Shetland Baton Twirlers
SBT has been in existence since 1990 and is directed and coached by Caroline
Bulter. Twirling is an underestimated sport, for it combines spectacular
acrobatics, supple gynmnastics, dance as well as the virtuoso skill of
baton twirling. Based in Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Isles, SBT
teams have won the Scottish Championships on numerous occasions, and placed
2nd and 3rd at the U.K. championships. Perhaps their biggest achievement,
thus far, was representing Scotland at the World Chmpionships where they
placed 9th. Kazimir Kolesnik has been choreographing and teaching SBT since
1992. |
